Team Classic Suzuki with Suzuki GB Vintage Parts in 2016

Team Classic Suzuki has just announced a partnership with Suzuki GB's  Vintage Parts programme. The team directed by the Brit, Steve Wheatman, will officially represent the Japanese manufacturer in the finest historic events of the 2016 calendar, with Motul's technical support.

The Isle of Man Classic TT, to be held from 26 to 29 August, is naturally one of the major goals. The two riders of the team, Lee Johnston and Michael Dunlop, have already both won in this event. They will be riding the famous Suzuki XR69 which was one of the stars of the Motorcycle Live Show in Birmingham.

This machine, whose 4-stroke 1000 cc engine produced over 130 hp, impressed the crowds at the beginning of the 1980s in Superbike category, as did the feats achieved  at the Tourist Trophy.

'In 2015, Michael Dunlop won with the XR69 at the Classic TT; our goal will be to take many other wins next year', commented Steve Wheatman. 'The fans who come to see us racing are themselves often owners of historic bikes so the activity of the Suzuki GB Vintage Parts programme does not leave them indifferent.' After-sales Marketing Coordinator at Suzuki GB, Tim Davies did not fail to insist on the importance of racing for the brand:  'Racing is part of Suzuki's heritage and we must not forget the bikes of the past which have brought us to where we are today.'
