MOTUL AND SHERCO SIGN GLOBAL PARTNERSHIP

MOTUL AND SHERCO SIGN GLOBAL PARTNERSHIP

Innovative, passionate and fast-growing motorcycle manufacturer, Sherco, has signed an all-embracing, global partnership agreement with two-wheel lubricant market leader, Motul.

The 360-degree deal, which stems directly from Sherco’s involvement in racing, will include use of Motul’s extensive range of products at all levels in the production of the French company’s 39 bike models. This will encompass first fill and service fill of all bikes, MotulTech use on industrial machinery, as well as full competition support for Sherco’s racing activities.

Thierry Quilan, Motul - President of the Management Board, spoke enthusiastically about the newly agreed association: “We are delighted to announce this new partnership with a brand which is as young and flourishing as Sherco.  Its values of family-led management, innovation and performance are those very much in common with our own at Motul, and of course we also share a real passion for racing.  We have no doubt that this partnership will very quickly produce results both on track and through our distribution network.”

Thomas Teissier, Sherco General Manager, added:  “We have got to know Motul very well through our involvement in the Dakar and it was clear that our philosophy, our core values and approach was very alike, so they are a perfect partner for us on a wider scale. Motul’s quality, originality and racing-led development has proved itself over 160 years now and, for a relatively young company such as Sherco, this experience and wisdom is invaluable.”

Sherco was founded by Marc Teissier, a former professional trials rider, in 1998. Now competing against the biggest brands in the world, the company has a plant in Nîmes in France and another in Caldes de Montbui in Spain, plus a global presence in more than 66 countries. Its bikes are manufactured with passion and skill, and have established a strong reputation for performance, speed and innovative design.  The new 360° global agreement will cover the following areas.

RACING PARTNERSHIP

It is said that from small acorns grow great oak trees and Sherco is rapidly proving itself to be a fast-growing oak!  From the manufacture of its first trials bike 21 years ago, to its first Dakar in 2009 and its first world championship title one year later, the family-led company has never ceased to push beyond the limits…a philosophy close to Motul’s heart.  It produces off-road bikes to compete in Enduro, Trials and Extreme Enduro World Championships, and of course, the Dakar.

Motul has worked with Sherco at the Dakar for several years now, providing products from its flagship 300V racing range as well as the full Powersports and MC Care collection. Its bikes have, in recent years, won stages in the Dakar, Enduro World Championship titles, national and international trial championships and much more.  Driven by passion, its bikes are built by riders for riders and will, from now on, be lubricated by experts sharing the same emotion and desire for reliability, performance and results.
