24 Hours Motos: a celebration of speed, stamina and Motul!

As Spring is here and the motorsport season is really starting to get going, Le Mans is preparing for its first big 24-hour race of the year: the 24 Hours Motos.  The second round of the FIM Endurance World Championship (FIM EWC), begins at 15h00 on Saturday 21st April, and Motul will once again be a major part of this marathon of endurance racing.

As Official Lubricant Partner to the FIM and FIM EWC, the premier endurance motorcycle racing championship in the world, Motul’s involvement in these tough races allows it to test and develop its products under the most extreme of racing conditions.  Reliability, durability and performance are the key watchwords in all competition, values equally shared with consumers and everyday use, but never more so than in the twice-round-the-clock events which are so much part of Motul’s competition DNA.

A celebration of speed and stamina

The race celebrates its 40th anniversary this year and 60 bikes will line up on the 4.185km Bugatti Circuit at Le Mans in front of around 75,000 passionate motorcycling spectators. Within the wide and varied entry list, Motul will be supporting several teams including two famous factory squads:  Honda Endurance Racing and Suzuki Endurance Racing Team (SERT).

Honda came through strongly in the final hours of the Bol D’Or last September to finish 3rd and currently holds the same position in the EWC standings.  SERT is one of the most successful teams of all time, 15 times World Champion, and it will be keen to improve on its 4th place finish last year. Also supported by Motul are the National Motos (Honda), Team 33 Accessoires Louit Moto (Kawasaki) and Junior Team LMS Suzuki teams.

Motul’s products are the top pick of the teams

All Motul-supported competitors will use products from the Motul Factory Line range, officially certified by the FIM. Among those products, coolants, brake fluids and care products for both the bikes and riders’ equipment and most notably the engine oils including the race-proven 300V. The extreme conditions under which products are placed in endurance events provide ideal living laboratory conditions in which to prove these elements...what works in EWC definitely works on a daily basis.

After starting the 2017-18 season at the famous Bol d’Or at Circuit Paul Ricard in the south of France last September and continuing this month with the 24H Motos, the FIM EWC competitors will go on to 8-hour races in Slovakia (10-12 May), Oschersleben, Germany in June and Suzuka in Japan in July.
