BALDWIN SCORES DETROIT PODIUM FINISH, MOVES TO FIRST IN POINTS STANDINGS

GTSPORT RACING's successful weekend in Detroit, MI at the Pirelli World Challenge Belle Isle Grand Prix included a second place finish for Jack Baldwin in his #73 RESET-MD Porsche Cayman S, as well as a big move up to the top of the points ladder for Baldwin.

Jack Baldwin, of Marietta, GA, put his #73 RESET-MD Porsche Cayman S on the outside of the front row with a last lap flyer of 1:39.524 and an average speed of 85.004 MPH. "Qualifying is so important, especially in Detroit," stated Baldwin "so I was very happy to give the team the outside pole for the first race of the weekend."

In the first race of the weekend, PWC GTS Round 5, Baldwin both started and finished second overall, earning his fourth podium finish of the 2014 season in just five races. Teammate Buz McCall, of Boca Raton, FL, driver of the GTSport #72 RESET-MD Porsche Cayman S, finished Round 5 in thirteenth position after moving up from a twentieth position start.

The following day, the GTS class hit the streets of Detroit for Round 6. Having earned a seventh place start based off his best lap time from the previous day's race, Baldwin battled traffic and a caution delay but steadily moved up the field. It was a hard fought race that unfortunately concluded behind the safety car with Baldwin in fourth. While under green, however, Baldwin put down the fastest GTS time of the race with his 1:40.016 lap and an average speed of 84.586 MPH. Meanwhile, McCall, who had started twenty-first, greatly improved his position to finish fourteenth.

"We were able to run with the lead pack during both races this weekend, but we have some work to do to keep up with Mustangs. Our consistent finishes have kept us in the championship points battle, but a couple of more wins would really put us over the top," stated Baldwin. "I love racing on Belle Isle but know our sights are set on rounds 7 & 8 at Road America in Elkhart Lake, WI."

With five race weekends and ten races of the PWC GTS class left to go, Baldwin is now ranked first overall in points for the GTS Drivers' Championship.
