A top-of-the-range lubricant reference brand, Motul bases itself on its direct subsidiaries and its affiliates, and also on a network of more than 80 importers, to represent the brand worldwide.
As sales in volume terms have been constantly increasing internationally over the past twenty years, Motul can rightly claim today to be a major player in the field of lubricants for the most demanding applications both in the industrial and automotive fields.

Synthetic based lubricants: an increasing share in the volumes sold
In the 1970s, Motul produced the first 100% synthetic lubricant for car engines. Since then, the share of synthetic based lubricants in the total sales has not ceased to grow, reaching more than 2/3rds of the volumes sold in 2010. This confirms the Group's top-of-the-range positioning and its market lead.
