At Yamaha Tech3, after the finish of the Estoril Grand Prix, they were lapping it up savouring the 4th and 5th places of the team supported by Motul. The identical result in the first two races confirms the excellent performance of Hervé Poncharal's team, the first private team just behind the Honda and Yamaha factory teams. The result differed however slightly from the previous ones since, this time, Andrea Dovizioso managed to lead home Cal Crutchlow. Having secured a third-row start with 7th time in the trials, he was soon behind his team-mate who had clinched 3rd time. But thanks to a bold manoeuvre in the fifth lap, the Italian rider took 4th place and no longer gave it up to the finish. 'I'm happy with my performance, he confirmed, because I was very fast and regular throughout the race (…) Our goal was to reduce the gap separating us from the best, and we've achieved that.' For Hervé Poncharal, the race was 'nerve racking! (…) But the riders obtained a splendid result for Tech3, which confirms the solidity of our organisation and shows just how competitive Yamaha is.'
The three leading men are continuing to battle it out for first place in the Championship, with, for the second time this year, a win by Casey Stoner, while Dani Pedrosa secured his 100th podium in MotoGP! Should one of them suffer a glitch, then Tech3's men will also be able to advance through the ranks to the podium... The next event will take place in Le Mans, home turf of Tech3, so it will be closely followed! A GP close to Motul's heart since, for the 17th consecutive year, it will be one of the event's official partners!
