A year ago Motul joined up with longtime partner, Nissan NISMO, in a daring project aimed at revolutionizing the top LMP1 category in the world of endurance racing. A venture which, as announced by Nissan, will unfortunately not continue in 2016.
Despite the disappointment we all feel to see the Nissan GT-R LM NISMO adventure end prematurely today, with this project Nissan has remained true to its motto "Innovation that excites”. Excitement: that's what we all felt on learning about this car of the future, but innovation also means taking the risk of not succeeding straight away. Nissan has, however, demonstrated that change is possible.
The association between Nissan NISMO and Motul becomes stronger every year, and proved itself once again in Super GT last November with the capture of a second consecutive championship in the top GT500 category for the Nissan MOTUL AUTECH GT-R. This achievement, together with the Pro Cup title by the Nissan GT Academy NISMO GT-R in the 2015 Blancpain Endurance Series, is also a mark of the performance of the lubricant created from this collaboration, "Nismo Competition Oil by Motul", as used by many GT-R owners both competitively and otherwise.
Motul wishes much success to Nissan NISMO in its future endeavors, and looks forward to being part of new challenges with the Japanese manufacturer!
