John McGuinness and Conor Cummins will again be part of team Honda Racing in 2016. The news was announced by Honda on 6 November during the TT Day at the Motorcycle Live Show in Birmingham. Honda Racing, which is pursuing its technical partnership with Motul, has as usual included in its programme a series of famous road and urban events. On their CBR1000RR Fireblade Sps, the two riders of the team will enter the NorthWest 200 in Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man Tourist Trophy and the Macao Grand Prix. Cummins will also be contending in the Ulster GP.

Winner of the Senior TT on 12 June, John McGuinness is no longer more than three digits from the record of 26 Tourist Trophy successes held by   Joey Dunlop. The 'Morecambe Missile'  took advantage of it to beat the absolute world circuit lap record of 60.72 kilometres with the incredible average of 213.56 km/h! 'I know some who dream of going even faster but I have the ideal package to aim at other successes.' In 2015,  'Ramsey Rocket', Conor Cummins, mainly raised his profile at the  Ulster GP where he finished twice 2nd: 'With two years of experience on the CBR, I feel 2016 could be my year!' The two men will also be riding the Hondas of the private team Jackson Racing, also partnered technically by Motul, on roads and on FIM EWC circuits.
