Kerenyi takes his revenge over 2011 and wins the title!

09.10.2012

The last round of the King of Europe Drift Championship took place  the first weekend of October at the Automotodrome Slovakia Ring, a brand new circuit to the east of Bratislava. An ideal venue to host the biggest ever drift event organised in Europe: 60 cars were indeed entered and the riders came from 21 different nations!
The contenders enjoyed favourable weather on Friday and Saturday but, on Sunday, rainfall and violent wind caused the event to be interrupted, meaning that the last battles took place at night!

At the end of the event, Adam Kerenyi, who was entered by Team Dotz supported by Motul, won this European championship, which forms a fine revenge after his 2nd place last year! Motul supported other teams: for As Factory, Sébastien Cornec did not manage to qualify in the top 32 and, for team Nerom3, Nikolett Szanto, one of the rare women drivers, got into the top 32 but was eliminated in her first battle. The event welcomed some famous Japanese drivers, including Daigo Saito, supported by Motul at the Formula Drift Asia round held in Singapore and who shone on several occasions throughout the season. As for the Motul Challenge set in place this year as a reliability event, it was won by Italian Francesco Conti, who will thus receive Motul's technical support for 2013.

For the second consecutive year, Motul was a partner of this championship whose popularity is growing all the time. So Motul's  motor-home was present and the brand organised on Saturday evening a cocktail reception bringing together the drivers, organiser and partners. On this occasion, Mike Procureur, director of the championship, announced the creation of a King of Europe Pro Series for 2013 comprising eight dates, solely at permanent circuits, and reserved for the best drifters of Europe. Book that down for 2013!
