Hexis Racing finished 2nd in the teams' and drivers' championship! ++

After the Nürburgring disappointment a week earlier, Hexis Racing was intent on regaining its confidence and podiuming once more at the last round of the championship taking place at Donington Park on 30 September. That's exactly what was achieved by the team of Philippe Dumas, Fred Makowiecki and Stef Dusseldorp which clinched the win in both races. The second was moreover disrupted by a big collision between Winkelhock's Mercedes and Buurman's BMW, putting a premature end to the event. At the end of race one, Fred Makowiecki declared: 'It's fantastic to win this race after our disappointment at Nürburgring. Stef did good work during his stint and the team did a lightening pit-stop'. For his part, Stef Dusseldorp said, 'The goal will be to do the same again tomorrow in the main race.' And they managed to do so. This result has allowed the team to make up for having fallen behind and to bag two podiums in the championship, with 2nd place in the drivers' standings and in the teams' standings. A performance which brings to a magnificent end a difficult season marked by unexpected developments. Hexis Racing has indeed been one of the main protagonists of the championship, clinching the biggest number of wins whereas the winning drivers didn't take any! These are the laws of the race, identical for all. Only luck, sometimes, changes sides. On 30 September, it shone on Hexis, in the form of an encouragement for the next season!
