The fourth event of the season took place on 2 October in Liuzhou, China. Philippe Chiappe, who drives for CTIC China, a team supported by Motul, came 3rd and climbed the podium for the third time this year. Despite a somewhat slow start, he managed to get close to the leaders while a collision among them eliminated Sam Selio and Shaun Torrente. 'It's always special to podium in China,' said the French driver. 'My next goal now is to take a win and why not aim for the title.'
