Motul aiming for international sportscar success with Rebellion Racing in 2017

The famous colours of Switzerland’s national flag will be echoed by Motul’s own iconic red and white logo this year as the multiple-championship-winning Swiss team, Rebellion Racing, becomes Motul’s latest partner in international motorsport.

Rebellion Racing will be competing in both the prestigious 9-round FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) with two LMP2 ORECA 07s and IMSA’s 4-race North American Endurance Cup with one car.

The new prototypes will be powered by the new 4.2 litre V8 Gibson GK428 engine which has been developed with, and which is exclusively lubricated by, the Motul 300V Power Racing 5W30 oil, part of the company’s specialist Motorsport Line.

Pedigree Pedal Power…

Rebellion Racing has always attracted quality drivers for its campaigns, as seen when Motul and the team worked together in 2010 at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and in the European Le Mans Series.  Andretti, Prost and Jani (2016 World Endurance Champion) were among the names at that time, and this year the super-talented, multi-national driver line up will feature such legendary racing names as Prost, Piquet Jr. and Senna.

The team is aiming for overall victory at motorsport classics such as the Daytona 24 Hours and the Twelve Hours of Sebring in the USA and class victory in the WEC including the jewel in the crown of sportscar racing, the 24 Hours of Le Mans (round 4).

Excellence and high performance…

Bart Hayden, REBELLION Racing Team manager said, “When you race at such a high level in these two championships, everything has to be spot on.  We are very pleased to be partnered by Motul, a company which produces such excellent, high performing and reliable products – it’s one less thing to worry about and means we can concentrate on the competition in hand.

Hélène Zaugg, Head of Communications for Motul added, “We are very happy to be working with Rebellion Racing again, a premium team which shares Motul’s values of premium, authenticity, ingenuity and passion.  We look forward to travelling on the road to new successes and achievements with them in 2017.”
