MOTUL returns to MXGP with Team HRC

16.02.2015

Aubervilliers, 16 February 2015. MOTUL will have a very visible presence in 2015 in the extremely popular and exciting MXGP championship through an addition to its long-standing partnership with the Honda factory team, Team HRC.

The team will benefit from the talents of riders Gautier Paulin and Evgeny Bobryshev, and is composed of the Italian staff from Paolo Martin’s squad and personnel from HRC in Japan.  They will combine to form a team guaranteed to challenge for success at every outing, and products from MOTUL’s competition-dedicated Factory Line range, including the 300V off-road lubricants, will be used to maintain the bikes and riders’ equipment.

Added to the above will be the experience and expertise of MOTUL ambassador, Jean-Michel Bayle, who will be a full team member as well as coach to the two riders in his role as Team HRC Sporting Manager.  Bayle is arguably France’s greatest motocross rider and a two-time former World Champion, enjoying success on both sides of the Atlantic and winning major titles in the 250 and 500cc class as well as Supercross with Honda.

Monsieur Hervé Amelot, President of MOTUL’s Management Board commented: "We are very happy to take on the new challenges with Team HRC that the 2015 MXGP will offer.  Our two companies have a long history in the world of motocross, and the World Championship titles won in 1988 (125) and 1989 (250) live on in our hearts and minds. The new partnership is an extension of MOTUL’s extensive links with HRC which include a successful technical support of the marque in the world’s leading rally-raid which recently took place in South America, the Dakar, the Honda Road Racing team which is led by motorcycling legend John McGuinness, the Honda Endurance World Championship Team and the two-time Championship winning (2013/2014) HRC All Japan Motocross team”.

Roger Harvey - HRC General Manager, MXGP added: “We’re really pleased to welcome MOTUL to Team HRC for the 2015 season. As HRC we have a long-standing relationship with MOTUL and they have proven over and again the quality and performance of their products, so we look forward to working closely with them in MXGP this year. The agreement with them coincides with a new livery for the 2015 CRF bikes and the MOTUL brand fits perfectly into both the image of the team and our engineering precision and determination to succeed”.

The 2015 MXGP starts in Qatar on 28th February and the 18-race season runs until the final round in France on 27th September.
