Honda Racing and Troy Herfoss win double championships

Team Honda Racing has won for the second consecutive year the AFX-Superbike and Australasian Superbike championships, the last events of which took place on 4 and 5 December at Sydney Motorsport Park. Troy Herfoss and Jamie Stauffer, the two riders of the team based in the Australian state of Victoria, battled it out in the lead throughout the weekend. Troy began by winning the race counting for the AFX-Superbike on Friday, thus bagging the crown of this national series. On Saturday, he intelligently managed his race to get ahead of his rival Wayne Maxwell by a single point in the final standings... And Motul could thus add two new titles to its 2015 collection!

'I had never dominated to such an extent' stated a delighted Troy Herfoss after winning the AFX Superbike race ahead of team-mate Jamie Stauffer. This win gave him pole position for the first of the three decisive races of the  Australasian Superbike the following day.

While Stauffer bagged race 1, Herfoss managed to keep Maxwell at bay to take 3rd place. By beating his contender again by 5 tenths at the arrival of race 2, the rider of the Honda CBR1000RR SP #3 brought his lead to 5 points at the top of the championship standings. But race 3 remained and Maxwell finished 3rd again behind Stauffer, while Herfoss pushed forward to 5th place. This sufficed to become for the first time, at age 28, champion of the Australasian Superbike!
