French Ice Championship - Val Thorens

09.12.2011

A good start for Jean-Philippe Dayraut!

The 23rd edition of the Andros Trophy, the now famous French ice racing championship, has now been launched!  Including a total of seven meets this year, this championship opened last weekend at Val Thorens.

Highly involved in this championship for many years now, Motul appears among the official partners of this atypical but also and above all particularly demanding discipline.

But that's not all. Motul is also a technical partner of the Electric Andros Trophy which, as its name says, is reserved for 100% electric vehicles. In this respect, in cooperation with the manufacturer Exagon Engineering, Motul has developed specific transmission lubricants to meet the constrains of this type of vehicles.

Last, on the track, Motul also supports technically team SaintéLoc represented by three-times champion of the discipline: Jean-Philippe Dayraut. Forming a duo with Gilles Stievenart at the wheel of a new Mini, Philippe is going to do all he can to succeed himself.  Moreover the first results are particularly encouraging. Indeed, after this first meet, the driver from Toulouse ranks second in the overall standings behind Olivier Panis.

As for the Electric Andros Trophy, regarding the results it's Christophe Ferrier who is in the lead in the standings. Despite a lack of snow, the 2010 vice-champion pulled off the best performance of the weekend.

Next round in Andorra on 9 & 10 December!
