French Ice Championship - France - L'Alpe d'Huez

28.12.2011

Dayraut and Prost taking the lead in turn

At the end of the previous round of the Andros Trophy, Jean-Philippe Dayraut was in the lead in the overall standings, one point ahead of  Alain Prost. After the third event of the season, at  L'Alpe d'Huez on 16 and 17 December, the positions have been reversed, still with a tiny point gap between the former Formula 1 champion and the driver of team Saintéloc supported by Motul.

In the first race, the regional participant of the round, Pierre Llorach, upset the order of the leading trio, Dayraut, Prost and Panis. Dayraut finished fourth, having allowed Balas to overtake him so as to avoid being too heavily loaded with ballast in the second race where he caught up by finishing second, behind Prost who for the first time in the season took the lead in the overall standings.

In the Electric Andros Trophy, for which Motul is a partner, Adrien Tambay, fighting fit, crossed the arrival line of three races out of four first, which allowed him to strike off Franck Lagorce and Nicolas Prost and clinch second place in the overall standings, behind an as usual very regular Christophe Ferrier.
