1st place for Round 6 D1NZ

Round 6 of the D1NZ championship turned out to be another great weekend for us. Another win proves that with the replaced turbo my Silvia its now back to a championship winning state. Its amazing that with the slowly deteriorating turbo it was hard to notice the performance dropping until the new one was fitted!
The weekend went with out any hitches for our team, my Silvia was running perfectly and cant wait to get back behind the wheel again.

Because of our mechanical problems during the year (gearbox failed in Manfield, and turbo blew in Taupo) I have come 3rd in the championship for the year. Would have been awesome to get my championship title back but I will have to wait till next season. I have had 2x 1st's and 1x 2nd on the rounds I never had mechanical problems though so still stoked how things went.

The build up to round 6 turned out to be alot of work for us. We have been running Gull Force Pro E85 for a while now and after seeing a fellow competitors 5th engine blow (destroying an engine every round) after running a different brand E85 and different engine oil it was time to strip my engine completely too see how the Gull fuel, Motul 300V, and our dyno tuning at E & H Motors is coping  from running ethanol fuel.
Once we had the engine out of the my car and completely stripped we were happy to see that the engine was perfect inside. Some of the things we were looking for is corrosion on the cylinder liners and valve seats, wear on the engine bearings and rockers etc. Everything measured up perfectly and since everything was in such good condition we cleaned, and assembled the engine using the same bearings, and rings.

On the 8th to 10th of April we headed down to the Hamilton 400 V8 Supercar races. We drifted through the Hamilton streets race circuit to keep the crowd entertained in between races. Unfortunately the track was wet for alot of the time but the crowd still enjoyed watching us so was good advertising for us all.

Our next planned events are the drift demos at Rally NZ on the 8th of May in Hampton,  and our next drift competition combined with the truck racing in Taupo on the 13th - 15th of May.
