Wheels & Waves 2017

13.06.2017

Motul partner with Wheels & Waves 2017

Vintage motorbikes, surf, music and unusual meetings, this year the Wheels & Waves Festival will again be THE rendezvous for fans of motorbikes full of character. It will take place between 14-18 June in the Cité de l’Océan in Biarritz where for a few days the gentle murmur of the lapping of the waves will be replaced by the roar of customs and retro motorbikes.

In 2016, the event attracted more than 15 000 visitors all keen fans of beautiful machines, original clothes, sliding, surfing and drifting of all kinds. As described by the founders of Blitz Motorcycles: “Wheels & Waves is like a huge family gathering of people who have a common love of clothes, surf, motorbikes and an open mind unlike that of the classic bikers.”

With 160 years of history behind it Motul knows this off-beat lifestyle well and defends it by becoming involved in various events dedicated to historic bikes like the Moto Legend Show. Motul and Wheels & Waves share the same values of authenticity and innovation, that’s why the brand has been part of the project for three years. This year more than ever Motul will be present throughout the week and is determined to leave its mark on the 2017 event.

In addition to the village, which is a real open-air two-wheeler museum, the different races, the photo exhibition and concerts, Motul will cause a sensation in the event with Motul Beach. This ephemeral private venue on the beach at Bidart will enable riders and fans of music, surf and above all beautiful machines to get together in a warm authentic setting for a drink and a debrief of the day’s rides. The DJ....resident in the famous Raspoutine club in Paris will be twirling the turntables at Motul Beach for no fewer than three evenings from Thursday to Saturday to extend the ambience of Wheels & Waves far into the night.

The Wheels & Waves Festival is a real gathering of urban cowboys and for a few days the Biarritz of the 60s is revived as the cult destination it was in that era - a coast on which surf in Europe was born driven by just the right kind of waves and an art de vivre with a certain touch of insouciance about it!
