Rhys Millen remains in the lead pack

07.07.2012

Although less mediatised in Europe, the X-Games are extremely popular in the United States. They consist in several annual meets (summer and winter) of several disciplines, mainly gliding sports such as skateboarding, BMX, surfing, monoskiing, snowboarding, but also some  motorsports.

Among the latter, rallycross is not the least and was introduced into the X Games via the Global Rallycross Championship.

The third round of the season took place in Los Angeles on 1 July, with the exceptional presence of Sébastien Loeb who gave an amazing demonstration of his talent by finishing on the highest step of the podium. Travis Pastrana, the multi-talented champion who had participated in getting Loeb to go to Los Angeles, suffered a collision with Andy Scott already in the first turn of the first series, which deprived him of his race.

Motul cannot stay outside this appreciated and spectacular discipline and supports Rhys Millen Racing as well as Vermont Sports Car whose Subarus bear the colours of  Subaru Puma Team. At these teams, Rhys Millen did best in Los Angeles, finishing in 4th place which allows him to rank 3rd in the championship.

The next event of the Global Rallycross Championship is scheduled on 14 July on the New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
