Lotus Cup Europe - Magny-Cours - France

10.05.2012

John Walker and his 2-Eleven fighting for victory

The Lotus Cup Europe, a single-brand championship sponsored by Motul and which is now in its eighth year, was held at the Magny-Cours for its second round on 5 and 6 May.
Despite his pole position, acquired just before a violent storm,  Johnathan Walker had to battle it out to take victory in the two races which were particularly fierce. Christophe Lisandre, most regular, clinched third place on both occasions.
The second places were difficult to secure and went to brothers   John and Gregory Rasse. They did well at the wheel of their Exige and Evora, by winning their category and bagging in turn a very fine second place in the overall standings. In race one, Gregory was absent because of some electrical problems in his Evora. Meanwhile, in Production category, Matt Barlett won the first race and Markus Nikowitsch the second, achieving in the process excellent times which allowed his Elise to mix with the far more powerful Exiges
For the next event scheduled on 16 and 17 June, the Lotus Cup returns to Germany, to the Hockenheim circuit, five weeks before the Formula 1 Grand Prix .
