Desalle suffers, Leok does a good job, Larsen and Getteman resist

17.07.2012

Clément Desalle experienced a mixed weekend at the Kegum circuit on 14 and 15 July, in MX1. Suffering from a fall already in the first lap of the first race, he climbed to seventh position but a little mistake relegated him to thirteenth place. He left again intent on doing well at all costs and finally clinched a seventh place but that was a poor reflection of all the efforts of the Belgian rider in team Suzuki Rockstar Energy, supported technically by Motul. The quite fast terrain of Saturday became a muddy track on Sunday after the rainfall during the night. In race two, Desalle was battling it out with three other riders for second place when a fall made him lose ground. He took off again to finish fourth despite a damaged front wheel. Meanwhile, Tanel Leok, the other Suzuki Rockstar Energy rider, clinched an encouraging second time in the trials and finished with regularity, sixth and seventh of the two races, which allows him to move up one place in the Championship.

In MX2, Motul supported Team Standing Construct, with its two riders Jens Getteman and Nikolaj Larsen. After a first race with mixed results, the violent rainfall changed the track conditions and led the team to adapt the machines to these new circumstances.  That was a wise decision because Larsen et Getteman thus clinched sixth and eighth place, one of their best results of the season.

The next championship event is scheduled on 22 July in Russia at the Semigorje circuit.
