Motul partners the 6 hours of Zhuhai

Motul reinforces presence in China with 6 Hours of Zhuhai Partnership.

One of the most familiar and historic names in endurance racing, Motul, is to be an official partner of the 6 Hours of Zhuhai, the final round of the 2011 Intercontinental Le Mans Cup (ILMC) to be held in China on 12th November.

Motul is known internationally in over 80 markets for the formulation, development and production of world-class endurance lubricants. The partnership between the French company and the ILMC is a re-affirmation of one begun in endurance racing in the Asia region three years ago, the Far East and China being key strategic markets for the company.
The red and white Motul colours will be seen trackside throughout the long, sweeping third corner of the 4.03km Zhuhai track in the Guangdong Province, China’s first permanent race track which is situated close to both Hong Kong and Macau. Additionally, for the second year, the “Motul Award for Technical Performance” will also be presented on the winners’ podium by the company’s Chinese representatives. In 2010 it was awarded to the Porsche 911 GT3-R Hybrid of Jörg Bergmeister and Patrick Long.
Alongside leading manufacturer names in international sports car racing, such as Audi, Peugeot and Aston Martin, will be some of the world’s most famous and successful GT exponents – Porsche, Ferrari and Corvette. Larbre Compétition, 2011 GTE-Am Champions and long-time Motul racing partner, is heading to China. The former Le Mans class winners will be running a Corvette C6R, and have called upon the considerable talents of GM Corvette Racing factory driver Olivier Beretta for the Asian round of the series.
Based on the principle that there is no better laboratory than motorsports to prove the quality of its products, endurance racing has always been a key priority for the company.
