After a highly satisfactory year in the World Superbike Championship, in the Supersport category, Sheridan Morais took part in the last weekend of October in the South African Superbike Championship. He was entered by team Emtek Kawasaki Racing, for which Motul is a technical partner. The Friday before the event he had arrived straight from the Aragon circuit in Spain where he had spent a week doing trials. So, once he was on the Kyalami circuit he lacked time to fine-tune his Kawasaki ZX10 for it. This didn't prevent him from clinching a promising 2nd time in the qualifyings. The race met all the expectations and Sheridan drew on all his experience in international competitions to resist the pressure from Greg Gildenhuys who clinched the championship title on his BMW.
