Scherbakov, king of the slide

14.08.2012

Since 2005 there have been in Russia two Drift championships, Formula Drift and the Russian Drift Series, whose protagonists come together once a year for the Super Drift Battle.  But there are also amateur championships, which are a real breeding ground for young drivers, including Street Legal Drift, created in Vladivostok in accordance with the Japanese series from which it originates. Cars are divided into two classes: Pro Tune, for vehicles equipped with a roll cage, and Light Tune for touring cars. This championship is characterized by the wide variety of Japanese cars that go up against each other, from  classic Toyota Levins to modern Nissan Silvias.

For the second consecutive year, Motul is supporting the Z-Team Garage which runs Toyota Levins.  Drivers Sergey Scherbakov and Denis Ri are among the best of the competition, Scherbakov just recently taking the championship lead. Two events have already taken place: the first in May and the second at the end of June. But nothing is settled yet, because Scherbakov leads by just two precious points.
