At the beginning of August engineering students of Formula Student from universities around the world gathered at the Hockenheim circuit in Germany to take part in test events for this very special competition. Among the teams supported by Motul, Moscow State University of Mechanical Engineering (MAMI) distinguished itself by finishing 30th out of 109 entries, moving it forward 20 places compared to last year. Other teams receiving Motul support were the Chinese from Beijing IT who ranked 34th and the French students from the Metz National School of Engineers (ENIM) who were 64th. Throughout the week the students went through a series of tests on the single-seater race car they had designed (compliance with regulations, presentation, design, business plan), and the last few days were devoted to dynamic acceleration, Autocross and endurance tests. A fascinating game, played out in reality, for tomorrow’s automotive industry specialists.
