Harrington Doyle Racing looked on the 2012 season as a "development year. Results have more than met expectations as the team, which is technically supported by Motul, has its two drivers in the top-10 following the fourth race of the Australian "CIK Stars of Karting" championship which took place on 28/29th July at Eastern Creek, near Sydney. This is the first year that the HDR team, which also runs rookie drivers in two bike championships, is involved in the premier Pro Light class (Kart Formula 1), with its 125 cm3 liquid-cooled engine geared to exceed 140 km/h. The two young drivers, Brooke Top (18) and Jarryd Ebzery (19) regularly finished in the top ten, and sometimes even got near to the top five. At Eastern Creek Brooke Top just missed the fifth best qualifying time by 4/1000ths of a second! Twice, during the first round and the pre-final, he was even classed fourth. His teammate Jarryd, a local driver, unfortunately suffered a mechanical problem in the final which forced him to retire. HDR Is planning two days of testing in preparation for the final round of the championship, scheduled for 22nd/23rd September in Melbourne.
