Formula Xtreme - Wakefield Park - Australia

Ram Motorcycle opens the season at Wakefield Park

The Australian circuit of Wakefield Park welcomed on 12 February the first race of the year of the Formula Xtreme Road Racing Club. Among the 80 contenders, team RAM Motorcycle Engineering, to which Motul provides its technical support, entered three motorcycles entrusted to two riders, Bill Evans and Greg Moles. The former rode successively two Kawasakis ZX-6R and ZX-10R, while the latter rode a Suzuki GSX-R 600. Absent from circuits for a few years because of professional obligations that led him abroad,  Greg Moles did rather well by regularly improving his times and finishing second in his category, in 600.

Meanwhile, Bill Evans clinched a fine third place in 1000 cm3 and was on track to obtain a similar result in 600, but a short shower during the last lap of the third race caused him to fall. It wasn't serious but prevented him from finishing. The two riders took advantage of this event to test new tyres that significantly improve the behaviour of their machines. They'll be able to make use of these adjustments at the next team race at Eastern Creek circuit on 16-18 March, during the first event of the Australian Superbike championship.
