Even before the last race, Jordan Szoke pocketed his eighth championship title

31.08.2012

Despite Kevin Lacombe's win at the Mosport circuit on Saturday 25 August, Jordan Szoke is the champion for the eighth consecutive team in the Canadian SuperBike Championship. At Mosport, Szoke remained immediately behind Lacombe's wheel for nearly all the race, managing to clinch first place for two laps. At the arrival, the two men were separated by just 12 little hundredths of a second! Just behind, Axel Welsh kept pressure on the two leaders, forcing them to keep a fast pace throughout the event.

The following day, having pocketed the title, Szoke could contend in the last race simply to take the win, without worrying any more about scoring points. There was to be a fierce battle between him, Lacombe and Welsh, the latter crossing the arrival line first, just ahead of Szoke, once again second.

Waznie Racing, the team for which Jordan races and which is supported by Motul, was also awarded the prestigious Team of the Year Award, handed by Inside Motorcycle. This led Szoke to conclude: 'Nobody can win alone. A win is achieved with the backing of an entire team. The team provides you with a good bike and precious technical and moral support.'
