Cui Yue, one of the most brilliant drivers of the China Touring Car Championship in the 1600cc category can keep the championship lead thanks to his brilliant 2nd place in the event held at the Erdos circuit on 19 August. Well placed in the trials, the driver of team Beijing Hyundai Racing, supported by Motul, unfortunately mismanaged the turn at the end of the straight, in the third lap. He therefore lost a few precious places which he progressively clawed back to climb the second step of the podium. Zhu Daiwei, first leader of the race, had to abandon following a mechanical problem while Liu Yang, long 2nd, dropped in the standings after a contender collided with him.
The sixth round of the season will take place on 15 and 16 September at the Guangdong Zhaoqing circuit.
