Chaz Davies falls in the first race but podiums in the second

31.08.2012

For Chaz Davies, the two races at Moscow on 26 August were direct opposites! The rider of team ParkinGo, supported technically by Motul, indeed started the weekend in a rather unsatisfactory manner with 13th time in the qualifyings, then a fall in the first race, whereas he could have hoped to finish 3rd.  He managed to get up  but then suffered a mechanical problem forcing him to abandon. Luck was with him in the second race where it was his turn to take advantage of other riders' falls to climb the podium. 'The Moscow weekend was quite unnerving!' he admitted after the event.

Generally speaking, the meet was particularly marked by many falls and collisions. These even concerned the favourites, like Max Biaggi who, in the second race, collided with Leon Haslam and brought him down with him. As Max didn't score any points, Marco Melandri therefore won the race and took the championship lead.  The suspense therefore remains absolute as we approach the last events.

Team Effenbert Liberty Racing, also supported by Motul, is undergoing reorganisation and did not take part in the Moscow event. However it does intend to be present at the next round on 9 September in Nürburgring.
