A Ferrari driver wins at the wheel of a Tatuus!

08.08.2012

As a motorsport player for more than thirty years and boasting a long record list, Tatuus has built a serious reputation in the very private circle of manufacturers of single-seaters for racing. The Italian company wished to take part in new championships and so undertook the challenge a few months ago to develop its first prototype, a CN, intended for championships like the Speed Euroseries, the VdeV, various national championships or else hill climbs. To complete this ambitious project unveiled to the press in May, Tatuus joined with Mugen – Honda's motorsport division – to equip the Tatuus PY012 with the famous Japanese engine K20. Motul is a faithful partner of Mugen in many disciplines and is also very happy to be one of the technical partners of this project as official lubricant partner of the Tatuus PY012.

Once the prototype had been developed, its competitiveness and level of performance remained to be proved. Tatuus therefore entered its latest creation in the highly competitive Italian CN Sports Prototype Championship, at the round held on 22 July at the Magione circuit. The least that can be said is that the Tatuus, in the hands of Brandon Maisano – the young French driver, Ferrari's protégé and a member of the Ferrari Driver Academy – more than won the bet. Indeed, whereas the French driver was driving a sport prototype for the first time, he pulled off a hat trick, taking pole position, fastest lap and … race win! Motul is convinced that this first success will lead to many more and wishes to congratulate the Tatuus and Mugen teams as well as Brandon Maisano for this superb performance.
