Nagasuka gives Yamaha and Motul a new title!

07.11.2012

The magnificent Suzuka circuit was the setting ten days ago of the last round of the Japanese Superbike Championship.

The leading rider of team YSP Yamaha, supported technically by Motul, Katsuyuki Nakasuga came to this last weekend as the favourite for the JSB 1000 title, since his record for the first six races consisted in 4 wins and 2 second places!

But as nothing is ever played out in advance in sport, the Yamaha rider fell in the last lap of race one in the rain and therefore had all the more pressure on him at the start of race two.

In race 2, more determined than ever to clinch a third title after those of 2008 and 2009, the Japanese rider didn't slacken his pace at all, crossing the arrival line in third place. A sufficient position to secure the title of 2012 Champion!

His contenders are warned: in 2013 he'll be back to fight for the title, while adding the Suzuka wins to his list of successes.

Standings:
1/ Katsuyuki Nakasuga (Yamaha - 167 pts) - Motul
2/ Akira Yanagawa (Kawasaki - 162 pts)
3/ Tatsuya Yamaguchi (Honda - 125 pts)
