Motul, partner of the South American Superbike Cup

20.11.2012

The first South American Supersport Championship, as well as the fourth edition of the Copa Mercosur de Superbike, were solemnly announced at the time of the huge Latin American Tourism Show which took place from 2 to 5 November at the Predio Ferial de La Rural, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Motul decided to partner this championship, which looks like becoming a highly followed event throughout the continent and especially in the Union of South American Nations (USAN). A press conference took place inside the Uruguayan pavilion, with the Automovil club del Uruguay, to present the race which will take place in the town of  Mercedes, in the province of Soriano, twenty or so kilometres from the Argentinian border. The qualifyings and the race are scheduled on 14, 15 and 16 December, in the presence of more than 150 riders.

This region, whose economy is mainly based on agriculture, hopes to take advantage of the event to participate in the development of tourism. Guillermo Besozzi Arocena, director of the province of Soriano, and José Luis Perazza, director for tourism, are therefore delighted to host this exceptional event at the Polideportivo speedway in  Mercedes. 'We're particularly pleased to have won our wager and to have made this event a great classic,' concluded Silvano Pucciarelli, the organiser.
