Henry Hassid and Anthony Beltoise win the championship while Ruffier Racing bags the Cup

05.11.2012

The two races of the last round of the French GT Tour, which has been partnered technically by Motul for a long time, took place on 27 and 28 October at the Le Castellet circuit. At the end of race one, Henry Hassid and Anthony Beltoise's win allowed them to clinch the championship title and, while they were past masters of their art, they had to wait till the last moment to be assured of this result, which made Beltoise say: 'The title was at stake, so the race was complicated, especially as Olivier Panis was back like a rocket.' In effect, the event was particularly fiercely fought with an enthralling battle for the podium. Morgan Moullin-Traffort and Fabien Barthez finally came 2nd with their Ferrari Sofrev-ASP, while  Sébastien Loeb and Gilles Vannelet climbed the 3rd step of the podium with team Sébastien Loeb Racing's McLaren. In race two,  Team Audi France won. After an action-packed event, with an overtaking manoeuvre for victory in the penultimate lap, David Hallyday and Stéphane Ortelli finished ahead of the Ferrari Sofrev-ASP driven by Éric Debard and Olivier Panis. After impressively climbing back through the ranks, Sébastien Loeb and Gilles Vannelet climbed the 3rd step of the podium.

In the French GT Cup, after the win by Georges Cabannes and Romain Brandela with the Lamborghini entered by Ruffier Racing, supported technically by Motul, Philippe Ullmann and Jean-Paul Buffin, confirmed their triumph the following day in the French FFSA GT Cup with a new success at the wheel of a Porsche 911 GT3 also in Ruffier livery.
