Continental Tires Sport Car Challenge (10 to 12)

10.10.2011

Turner reaches his goal: the title!

Title winner in 2009, Turner Motorsport, one of the best recognised BMW specialists in the United States, had set itself a quite ambitious challenge at the beginning of 2010: to develop and get the new generation of M3s to win in the American Continental Tires Sport Car Challenge.

After a very good 2010 season marked by a place of Vice-Champion, the beginning-of-the-year ambitions of the team supported technically by Motul were therefore defined: the title in their GS category!

With 5 podiums including a win at the second round in Homestead, the team was among the leaders of the championship at Mid-Ohio for the last round of the season (17-18 September).

With a minimum 11th place to be secured, Dalla-Lana/Said adopted a quite conservative pace throughout the weekend  so as to also bag the driver's title for Dalla-Lana. With their 6th under the chequered flag, the goal was achieved and the laurels secured!

Now all that Turner remains to do is to get a win in 2012 from the 'big sister' M3, also developed internally and contending in the famous Grand-Am Rolex Series Championship. It will then definitely merit its nickname of BMW sorcerer.
